Tree of the Soul
Photograph by Duccio Nacci
A row of slender, windswept pines rises from the bottom edge, their trunks leaning in unison against a softly mottled sky. The high-contrast black-and-white palette emphasizes the trees’ sinewy forms and the painterly texture of the negatives—even the faint drips and streaks become part of the composition’s atmospheric depth.
